Peeling

Peeling

Peeling uses a chemical solution to improve facial skin and smooth its structure. Thus, superficial scars and many signs of aging of the skin (e.g., wrinkles, age spots and nipples) can be eliminated.

Exfoliation is the peeling of the uppermost skin layers with the help of chemical substances such as fruit acid, salicylic acid, TCA or phenol. The acid is applied to the skin surface and deliberately destroys parts of the epidermis (epidermis) or dermis (dermis), so that their renewal is specifically stimulated. The skin regenerates and rejuvenates, it looks smoother, purer and more youthful.

A chemical peel can help with:

  • Acne scars, large-pored skin or pigmentary shift
  • UV-damaged skin
  • Fine wrinkles, sagging skin that has lost its elasticity

TCA/phenol peeling – medium deep peeling

To correct the deeper skin layers, stronger acids are used than with a pure surface peel, e.g. TCA (trichloroacetic acid/phenol) in low concentrations. A TCA/phenol peel should only be applied by experienced physicians. A comprehensive consultation and education by the attending physician is absolutely necessary.

The treated skin is very sensitive in the first few days and must be protected from UV light. A complete healing is to be expected after 10 days. With a TCA/phenol exfoliation, every skin type and the entire body skin can be treated. The more correction is desired, the deeper the acid must penetrate the skin.

Is one treatment enough for a peeling?

For some patients, results are obtained after just one treatment. In general, however, two to four treatments are needed for the best possible result. The interval between treatments must be at least one week. The results of the peeling are visible shortly.

How long does a chemical peel take?

A medical peel takes about 30 minutes.

Do I need an anesthetic for a scrub?

The peeling is applied on an outpatient basis. A local anesthetic is used here. First the skin is cleaned, then a chemical solution is applied and then "removed" accordingly.

What should I consider after treatment?

After a TCA/phenol exfoliation treatment, it can come to the beginning of the sweating of the tissue, which can sometimes be painful. Therefore, analgesics are not uncommon in the first hours after treatment. The skin renewal requires a period of several days until the tissue is completely healed. After about four to six days, the final result can be inspected. Nevertheless, the patient can return to his usual activities after just a few days. It is not recommended to apply make-up for the next 24 to 48 hours. The skin is still slightly red and sensitive, so care must be taken. Also important is the sunscreen, which should definitely be used within the first few months after the exfoliation.

What are the costs for a peeling?

The cost of scrubs depends on the individual scope of service. Average prices can be found in our price list
