A new study reveals high patient satisfaction following the treatment of axillary hyperhidrosis using miraDry® technology. In an online survey of 80 patients treated at Park-Klinik Birkenwerder, over 80% reported significant improvements in their quality of life and would recommend the procedure to others.
Hyperhidrosis affects 1-2% of the population, primarily younger individuals under 40. The miraDry® method, a non-invasive treatment using microwave technology, offers results comparable to surgical interventions but with less strain on the patient. Those treated have reported a noticeable reduction in excessive sweating and an enhancement in their overall quality of life.
The study conducted at Park-Klinik Birkenwerder gathered feedback from 282 patients treated between 2017 and 2024. Out of the 220 patients contacted, 80 responded, with a response rate of 36.4%. The findings demonstrate a significant reduction in life restrictions caused by excessive sweating, offering patients relief in their daily lives.
The miraDry® treatment targets sweat glands using microwave energy, effectively destroying them without surgical intervention. The procedure takes about an hour, is non-invasive, and does not require the surgical removal of sweat glands. High patient satisfaction is reflected in an over 80% recommendation rate.
