All specialists are u.a. Full members of the German Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (DGPRÄC – formerly VDPC). They regularly attend meetings of associations at state and federal level as well as at congresses, symposia and workshops in Germany and abroad.
The German Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons, DGPRÄC for short, is the official representative of the German Plastic Surgeons and represents the general and professional interests of Plastic Surgery nationally and internationally. For example, she coordinates with the chambers the advanced training regulations for the subject and is the contact person for the World Association of Plastic Surgeons (IPRAS) and other committees and organizations.
In 1968 she was founded in Bochum as “Association of German Plastic Surgeons”. Currently there are 1102 Specialists in Plastic Surgery as Full Members and 457 Doctors in Continuing Education as Plastic Surgeons as Associate Members. It contributes to quality assurance through annual congresses, numerous regional meetings and more than 80 courses for physicians in continuing education.

The German Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (DGÄPC) is one of the oldest specialist association in this field in Germany. Since 1972, the name stands for qualitative standards in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and professional exchange of experience at the highest level. The goal of the DGÄPC is the systematic scientific investigation of medical problems that arise for humans from certain physical characteristics and their development in the course of life, as well as the mastery and further development of the methods and techniques used in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. All members of the DGÄPC are specialists in Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery who specialize in the field of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and are established. They have extensive qualifications and many years of practical experience.

The Association of German Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (VDÄPC) is the largest professional association of aesthetic surgeons in Germany. The members of the VDÄPC are both general practitioners and clinicians in the field of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery. The members of the VDÄPC must continue their education beyond the training as a specialist in Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery in order to keep their professional knowledge and skills at a consistently high and up-to-date level.

The Society for Aesthetic and Reconstructive Intimate Surgery Germany (GAERID e.V.) was founded in 2012 in Essen. It should serve as a serious forum for all specialists working in the field of aesthetic and reconstructive intimate surgery. Chairman of the Board is Dr. Ing. med. Dominik von Lukowicz (Munich). The company deals with both the scientific and practical education and training of its members in the fields of gynecology, dermatology, plastic surgery, urology and psychology. In the meantime, 95 specialists have joined together in the GAERID e.V. actively campaigns against female genital mutilation (FGM) and offers their victims reconstructive help.

The International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) is the world’s leading professional association for aesthetic plastic surgery specialists. He carries out further training with the aim of integrating a standard and high quality in the field of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. The ISAPS Charter was signed at the United Nations. ISAPS surgeons are members of their national aesthetic plastic surgery companies. In this regard, ISAPS serves as an important bridge between many different professional societies and organizations.
